Home with the kids on Presiden't Day?

The holidays always make me a little nostalgic for the classroom. If I had been teaching this past week I am sure I would have dug up some fun President's Day activities to do with my Kindergarten students.

I LOVE to use music in my classroom. I think it makes the learning experience pleasurable for everyone. Plus- I LOVE TO DANCE! One of my favorite is a song my Dr. jean Feldman. It is called The President and lists the names of all the presidents. You can find the song at the Songs for Teaching Website.

I use Dr. Jean’s CD’s as a teacher and I am sure I will use them as a parent. If you have young children you should definitely check out her website. It is filled with tons of fun learning ideas. http://www.drjean.org/

Also check out the following site for some great info and President’s Day activities

One of my all time favorite children's books is So You Want to be President. The books gives fun information of past president's that is sure to make anyone smile. It is best suited for kids ages 7 an up.

I am really glad to be home today and spending the day with my own children instead of my classroom.

Thanks so much for those websites! I am going to have to check those out. I am always on the look out for things to use to motivate and make learning fun for my class. Thanks!!
