National Library Week

It is National Library Week! I have very fond memories of taking trips to the library as a little girl. I still take a trip to my local library every few weeks and stock up on books. It is a great way to read and save money. I was reminded about NLW from someone's blog- but now I can't remember who. If it was your blog drop me a comment.

I read Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin with my Kindergarten class and we have been working on letter writing, Today my students wrote letters to the librarian and the library aide thanking them for everything they do. The kids were very excited about this activity. We will deliver the letters when we go to library tomorrow morning.

you are such a good teacher....let's see, what did I do today? Oh yeah- yell at a kid for stealing, yell at my class for being ten minutes late after library (because they take FOREVER to pick out books) and then made them finish the science lesson at recess since I lost ten minutes of my time.....I'm sure that there was more grumbling and grumping from me too.

Good for you though in making learning fun for the little ones!

Fabulous book! I'll be doing that one eventually on my Book Monday. Great idea to write the librarians!

We actually just received that book as a gift for Donovan. I think it's adorable (and especially amusing to us at this time, living so close to France and hearing about all the labor strikes... =P)

Love the library. I'm definatley a teacher out of the loop being in the position that I am though 'cause I didn't realize it was Library week! Eliza will probably be too young for most activities this summer but keep an eye out for a summer itinerary (not sure if I spelt that right)in your local library. I know the Ocean County Library has tons of activities, story times and other get togehters scheduled for every summer. They are fun, geared towards specific age groups and best yet FREE!
