The Ultimate Example of Momnesia!

If you are here for Wordless Wednesday scroll down to the next post!

If you do not care to read about my gross gynecological issues than please stop reading.

No seriously I am warning you. Do not go any further if you have just eaten.

You can't say I didn't warn you. It still isn't too late...

So in the ultimate case of Momnesia I left a little something in the nether regions. I had a feeling that this might be the issue but I was not going on a treasure hunt if you know what I mean. It was in there longer than I care to recount. I don't know whether to laugh at the insanity of it or cry because I am embarrassed. My OBGYN said she sees this happen at least once a month. I am now on antibiotics and I am pretty sure I have infection. I do not run fevers which is a BAD thing in this case. I am a little annoyed they told me it was normal when they couldn't fit me in for an appointment called last week. If you think odor, cramping, and spotting are normal then there is something wrong with you. This could have been serious. Can you say Toxic Shock Syndrome?

In an ultimate testament to grossness I did want to peek in the garbage can to see the root of the problem- but I refrained. Some things are even to horrific for me

If you want to learn more about this disgusting issue please check out this site. I hope it never happens to you- But I am thinking I am the only idiot this kind of thing happens to- I am actually quite surprised it hadn't happened sooner. I guess not having my period for so long did not help the situation. I am going to do the walk of shame now. Bye for now.

would you believe i know more than 1 other person who had the same thing happen to them? i also know of someone who forgot to take something out before putting another something in.

i always thought toxic shock syndrome was a bunch off crap and they just tell you not to leave it in for whatever amount of time so you will have to use more of them and therefore spend more money.

I'll admit I've done this walk of shame once too. I too balme it on momnesia. On one of my late night trips to the bathroom probably after feeding Madison when she was an infant also included caring for my gyn. needs. Nothing new here. The next day I went about my normal hygiene routine but all day long something didn't feel quite right. Sure enough by the next morning I found something left behind!
Stupidly I did not call the doctor and decided instead to wait it out and see if I got a fever. I'm here to tell about it so I guess I missed a bullet that time!

This happened to my cousin. I guess it is pretty common.

I'm sorry- I know I shouldn't, but ha ha ha ha ha! You make me giggle! I can completely understand how this might happen! Tired mommy, has to go back to work, long drive, etc, etc, etc, I'm sorry that it happened, but I am glad you are okay! (I'm sure the only reason it hasn't happened to me at this point is that I am still nursing....see me in a month when I have to post the same thing!)

I heart you for this post.

I am not laughing, I swear.

And as for forgetting, it is not like you have had a few things on your mind, seriously it is a wonder you have been able to get dressed the past few days.

It happens to a lot of people. I have a friend who is a doc and she says she sees it ALL the time. Ugh.

Momnesia . . . no doubt!

Take care, you.
