How green can I go?

Going green is really at the top of my list at this time in my life. I want our world to be a beautiful place for my daughter. I want to do my part to keep it that way. I don't judge other for their choices, but I believe that you shouldn't b*tch about things if you aren't going to do anything to change them. I love to complain so I need to make up for it by doing my best to live a clean life.

So how green an I go?

Cloth Diapers! I know some people debate the greenness of cloth diapers but I come from the school of thought that anything you can reuse is greener than something that is disposable

I have been received some cloth diapers in the mail and I am super stoked. However, it occurred to me that I have no idea how to use cloth diapers! I started my journey into this uncharted territory today. If you had asked me five years ago about cloth diapers I would have looked at you like you were crazy. Today I am steadfast that I will succeed- even if there are some spills along the way.

I will be trying out about 6 different brands of cloth diapers. I will post my review of each one on the blog. Wish me luck! I know there are may people who think I am a nut case for using cloth diapers - but I say poo poo to them.

Cloth diapers ROCK! I have used them from day one with both Tate and our new baby girl! I looove everything about cloth diapers. :) Most of mine are homemade ones though...so I can't wait to hear what you think of the 6 brands you have!

AWESOME! We switched about 3 months ago after using disposables for almost 4 years. It is good, but there are definitely days that I don't feel like dealing with them and long for the convenience of disposables. We have tried 3 different brand covers to use over the basic cloth diapers, held with a snappi. You will definitely have to give us a full review. Are yours all -in-ones?? It is really overwhelming when you first start and there is a TON of info out there, but you really should try it for a while and see if it works for you! I would be more than happy to answer any questions if you have any, or I have some great websites that I used to understand how to do it, just let me know!!

Ooh, now I am jealous! I love cloth diapers. My favorites are the bumgenius, but we also use bumkins. We got most of them used from a friend. I bet you'll like it. Most people don't realize most of the grossness is taken care of in the washing machine!

As you might already know from my blog we use cloth at home. I find they work better then disposables. My favorites are the BumGenius all in one and the good old fashion prefolds with bummis superbright covers.

We also recently switched to Gdiapers when we are out and about.

Before coming to those decisions I think we tried over 12 kinds of diapers.

Great job Going green! We are doing the same. Kudos to you on the cloth diapers. I had a friend who used them and loved them! Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Very excited to get the results! I would love to hear if they work as well as pampers/huggies etc. because the prices are going higher and higher for disposables. I would love to try and use cloth diapers with future child at home if they aren't too much work however if baby is in daycare i don't think they would put up with it so i will only be saving the earth about half the time.

You can go all the way...LOL! Baby green steps are great and you chose a perfect way to start saving the environment- not to mention all the benefits for your Little E, such as the chlorine in disposables and other toxins. It's a win-win! Wish you luck in your adventure.
