Got Goat's Milk?

Haven't been on much because I have been babysitting here and there. It is a LOT of fun having play mates for Eliza. It keeps her entertained and makes the time fly! I don't have anything permanent yet- I am more of a freelance sitter. hee hee

This past weekend I decided to try switching Eliza from bottles to sippy's- with the exception of the bottle she gets about an hour before bed time. She didn't seem all that attached to her bottles so I figured I would just switch it over. She had already been getting at least one sippy a day, so it was only two other bottles to switch over. It went surprisingly well. She doesn't drink as much from her sippy so I have been giving her an extra cup to make up the difference. However, now I seem to be constantly washing sippy cups!

The milk issue...

Even though she has turned one I still haven't switched her to cow's milk. Her 1 year appointment isn't until October 17. Right now I have been giving her the Next Step Enfamil. I don't drink Milk and am not thrilled about giving it to E- but I will probably give her Organic Cow's Milk before too long. A few friends suggested goat's milk as an alternative because it often doesn't contain all of the hormones and antibiotics and all that fun stuff I don't want Eliza drinking. It is also the preferred milk in many parts of the world. I drank some while staying on a farm in England when I was 13. From goat to tale it was quite yummy- and fresh. It is also easier to digest then cow's milk.

Tate has been on goats milk since he was one year old, so he's been drinking it for more than a year now. I believe that goats milk is WAY better than cows milk!!

My lil MAN drinks goats milk and we try to usually get it from a farm but that's not always the case. Most grocery stores carry it. You can find it in powdered form too- for traveling purposes...but I have yet to try that method. Glad E made the transition well from bottle to sippy! Are you using the new sippy straw versions...love those...lot's of BPA free options too! My fav is the Foogo by Thermos but Munchkin also makes a few. We started little man out on em after his 1st b-day...he still nurses more than he drinks goats milk tho'. Maybe he'll self wean during this pregnancy- not counting on it! LOL!

My mom had to drink goat's milk when she was a babe...I've not heard much about soy milk, either...

Hmm, I've never tried goats milk. I'm not a fan of goat cheese so does it taste similar to that?

I'm not into the cows milk thing either - we are still trying to find a solution to this.

Goat milk is great but as long as you get certified organic cows milk you will stay away from all the nasty stuff. That is all you will find in my home.
