She is my shunshine

With Pete working late I have taken over the bedtime routine. This is normally daddy's domain. He has his own set of bedtime rituals he does with E including stories and songs. Pete's routine is lengthy because it is really the main time he spends with Eliza during the work week. My routine is usually much shorter because it is the end to a very long day. Lately since it has been just us girls, I have been taking my time too. I usually end up in bed shortly after Eliza, so I don't know why I was rushing in the first place.

and lately Eliza does the sweetest cutest thing. There are a bunch of different songs I sing while rocking her to sleep. Lately she has had one specific request.

Shunshine

She wants me to sing You are My Sunshine. Except she says it Shunshine. She puts her head on my chest and says shunshine in the sweetest little voice imaginable and suddenly the stress of the day gone. She truly is my little shunshine.
