A long time ago I wrote a post about how disorganized I am and how I long for an organized mess free home like the one where I grew up. I know my parents would disagree but neatness and the ability to stay organized a definitely nature and not nurture! I was neat when I was younger (sometimes) because I was forced to be neat. Yes I shined the faucets in the shower after I was finished because that is what you did or the DRAGON LADY (aka my mom) would destroy you with her fiery wrath. I enjoyed living in a neat abode- I just never really grasped how to achieve one. You think I would have after living home for a zillion years. However, without a game plan (written down) I kinda just float around not knowing what to do. I am busy- doing what- who the heck knows? Most likely I am starting and not finishing projects. Now I realize neatness is just not part of my programming and being a scatter brained mess is what I know- and now I need to reprogram or else I will be buried under the clutter and no one will find me until something starts to smell.
Way back when someone commented I should check out FlyLady and I tucked it in the back of my head and it has been festering there for quite a while. Earlier this week I decided I was going to get organized once and for all. I googled this FlyLady and she makes a lot of sense. Little by little I have been trying to get myself in order. I have started being much more diligent and things around here are really shaping up. I do miss tossing my dirty cloths on the floor at night but I guess hanging them up will have to work! It is kinda nice to see the bedroom floor. Who knew?
So I am going to give it a go for a month and I'll let you all know how I am doing. I sure hope this FlyLady can help me!
In case your wondering. The flylady's first order of business. Shine Your Sink! Well, what are you waiting for- go get shining!!!!!

good luck getting organized. i don't really consider myself neat...but it made me feel less messy when your side of the dorm/house/bedroom was way more cluttered than mine haha.
if i spent half the amount of time cleaning that i spend sitting on my butt in front of some crappy tv show my house would be spotless...maybe i should work on prioritizing a little better
Oh I tried flylady but her emails drove me nuts. I don't wear shoes in the house, so I failed at point 2,although I do love the sink tip :) Good luck, keep us posted, and then call over and declutter my house please!
Danielle, you and I need to start a not so perfect housewife club :) I am the same way...everytime I get some sort of system I can never stick with it. I just feel like my genes are fighting back :)
Best of luck with the FlyLady! It has really helped me!
