It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Pregnant Husband?

Today was a beautiful day! I took Eliza out for a stroll. It was very windy but also warm. I am so ready for the warm weather. I hate winter. It is just one reason why I can't wait to move out of New Jersey. My toes need to feel the fresh air. I am a flip flop girl all the way. I am ready for the park and the beach and everything that comes along with the summer. The hubs and I plan on moving down to Charleston, SC as soon as this housing market improves.

A friend sent me this today and I was like WHAT the- you fill in the rest! Pregnant "Man" Due to Give Birth in July Check out the article here. I have a relative who underwent a sex change operation and it is a very serious thing. I am not one to judge and I believe we should live and let live- but this is highly controversial. It is terrible that the couple had difficulty conceiving but I just don't know what to think of their final decision. I just don't know what I would say to Eliza if she ever saw a pregnant man. How the heck do you explain that one? Apparently he is not the first man to carry a baby. I found this site with more info.

HHMMM I think it might be a good idea if Pete carries our next baby. I have just finished getting down to my regular weight and it is time for him to get all fat and flabby. I wonder if he will breastfeed too. This could be good- VERY GOOD! If Pete can carry the babes- I have decided I would like a ginormous family.

All jokes aside-What are your thoughts on this HOT TOPIC ?

I have been snapping some great pics of the peanut today and will post tomorrow. I love being home with my sweet baby girl! I really need to find a way to fund my SAHM dream.

This is just wrong on so many levels. If you have a sex change operation that is fine...but then you legally, physically etc. live as a member of the opposite sex. You can't pick and choose certain parts of each and go with that. In order to go through with a sex change, you need a lot of counseling and part of that should be that if you want to live as a man then you will obviously give up your right to have (give birth to) children. It was obviously a conscious decision on the part of the couple to have a child (which is fine) but they seem to have the money to afford adoption or surrogacy if they want a biological child. The couple seems surprised that most doctors will not help them. Really? But they also seem embarrased and would not even tell family members about their situation. I feel that any couple who is fit to have a child & wants one should be able to...straight, gay, whatever...but that does not include a former woman who changed to man to carry a baby.

I don't really care what people decide to do with their own lives as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. And by hurt, I don't mean annoy or offend or whatever, I mean HURT. Will it hurt the child as it grows? We'll have to wait and see.

And if you find a way to fund your SAHM dream please let me know. I have that dream too!

Okay- first...if you figure out how to fund the stay at home mom thing...fill me in on it. I would love to stay home...but, not in the cards unless I can figure something big out. :(

Also- I'm not too big on this man/baby thing. I heard about it on the radio on the way to work. I have to agree with Heather/future mom on this one. If you want to have a sex change, fine. I have no problems with that. But then you should live like a man, not go back and forth as it suits you. I feel badly that they had trouble and the wife could not have children....but there are other options. I think this would be awfully confusing for the child too. baby photos from the hospital with daddy in labor? I just don't know.
