Stinky Date Night

Tonight is date night with the Hubs. Grammyita is coming over to watch Eliza while we go to dinner at Pete's Golf Club. We really have only been out a few times since the baby was born so I am looking forward to the outing. However, since I am off and we are not doing day care Eliza is way off schedule this week. Today she was refusing to sleep in her crib at all. I love that peanut be she is driving me batty. I don't think she feels well to boot. She has a runny nose and a cough still. She also has a rash on her neck and tummy. oh and let's not forget the diarrhea. (oatmeal allergy? we have stopped giving it for now) So basically I have had no time to shower and my deodorant went missing at some point. You are all lucky this isn't a smelloblog. It is hard to feel overly excited about going out when I stink and look like a hot mess. Should I call and ask them to have my glass of wine waiting at the door?

Anyhoo, before Lil E was born Pete and I planned to have date night once a week.

OK. I have recovered from the fit of laughter at that idea.

But in all seriousness I think we do need to make more couple time. Having a baby puts a lot of stress on a relationship. Everything becomes "about the baby" and that just isn't healthy.I really want to make it a point to have some alone time with my hubs in the future.
I know someone was blogging about date night this week but I have Momnesia. Maybe I will find it on the google reader.

I'm glad you're getting out...we don't have family close to us and we haven't been out since Kaelin was born at all!

My man Dr. Phil would say that the most important thing you can do for your child is to take care of the relationship between her mother & father. And he is one smart dude so I would listen to him!

Even if you do something that isn't technically a "date", at least get away together for a while even if it is just to Target or the food store.

Enjoy your time together and hopefully Pete won't really notice that you forgot your deoderant haha. :)

getting out of the house and doing something that makes you happy is the best thing you can do for yourself... a happy mommy is a good mommy!
