I know you have all been dying to read about the stupid thing (yes only one) I did this week so here it goes...
I was trying to stay ahead of the game by charging my phone of Friday morning. I have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng commute home on Friday afternoons and I never want to be stuck on the road without a cell phone. When you have a tendency to accidentally drive off of the road onto the grass like I do- you need said cell phone.
Well I accidentally locked my phone. I never put a code on my phone but it locked anyway. I started freaking out and asking everyone in my mom's house how to unlock that darn mint green chocolate monster.
try 0000
try****
try 1234
nope- none of it worked
I call Pete and ask for his help. He said to try the last four digits of the phone number. I tried this three times and it still doesn't work. GGRRR
I Googled, "Help! I locked my cell phone" and I was introduced to the world of phone hacking. I read on some message board to try dialing *228 to update the phone.
I dialed *228 and as I sat listening to menu options I had an AHA moment...
WHEN I TRIED PUTTING THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF MY PHONE NUMBER IN AS THE CODE- I WAS USING THE WRONG NUMBER!
Minutes later my phone was unlocked!
Well at least I updated my PRL (Preferred Roaming List) when I dialed *228.
AND yes I am up at 4 a.m. because my legs are pins and needles. DAMN restless leg syndrome
