Beach Reads?

We leave for Hatteras in just over a week. I am relying on my fellow blogger to give me some beach read recommendations. What are you favorite reads? Or your favorite authors?

Earlier this summer I read "The Accident Man". If you are into conspiracy theories it was pretty good!

I have a few authors that I really like: Nora Roberts, JD Robb (who actually is Nora Roberts too.. lol), Debbie Macomber, Adriana Trigiani, and Fern Michaels. With the exception of JD Robb who writes quasi-mystery novels, the rest write quasi-romance... no smut just love stories, but with more meat to them than just the romance part

If you're into thrillers, Lee Child's Jack Reacher books are the current reigning champs. For something a bit more substantial, I think Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon is one of the best novels of the past 15 years and criminally underrated. I'm currently reading Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove and liking it a lot. It's got everything: romance, adventure, tragedy, history, and very fine writing.

Well, I have quite a few books I'm skimming over but am truly reading A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle- fascinating...one of Oprah's recommendation's too! I read his first book- The Power of Now and knew that this book would be just as great! Hoping to finish on my vacay! Also, trying to get through The Earth Moved by Amy Stewart - this one is kinda geeky- it's about earthworms- but since we're vermicomposting (worms) we're learning all about them!
