Mommy Time Out!

I just look innocent!
Today I had to give myself a mommy time out. Eliza did NOT want to sleep at all. I tried putting her down three times with no luck! She would not cuddle with me at all. She was squirming, arching her back and crying. I knew she was tired but she just wouldn't budge. Every once in a while she does this and I just get so frustrated. I start to foresee years of her and I battling it out to see who has the stronger will. It was about 3:30 and I just needed a break. I needed a little bit of silence and calm. So I put her in her crib and went in my bedroom to call Pete for some support. I don't even know what I wanted him to say. I just want him to be there when I want to pull out my own eyelashes one at a time in frustration. Little E was crying in her crib but mommy needed a break. After about 4 minutes I went back in and picked her up. She fell asleep in my arms. I brought her into my bedroom and we took a nap together for about an hour. AAHH the silence that ensued.

She does has one cute tushy butt. Check out her soft Kissaluv's cloth diaper. Super comfy!

Tomorrow we go to swim class again. I needs to pack my bag so I am not running around like a mad woman tomorrow morning. Translation: I will probably not pack a back and end up being a stressed mess tomorrow morning.

you know we all have those days and I don't want you to feel guilty for one minute about it! E was safe and not hurt for the 4 minutes you put her in the crib. Even if it would have been 10 minutes- it was a better choice to put her down, walk away, and collect yourself. You are a good mom for doing that! I'm proud of you!

Have fun at swim class!

My whole last summer was like that!

Everyday I'm amazed at how long it takes me to get out of the house (when I have somewhere to go).

Love your new pic!

You have every right to that 4 minutes! Or 10 or even 15 minutes! Like Pam said, she was safe, and you needed a breather - and in the end, you both got a good nap.

I have been in mommy time out before too!!! Those are the really rough days!!! She looks sweet! Hard to imagine that sweet faces like that could cause all that mommy pain!! That is the cutest top she has on!!!! Where did you find that??

I had six kids at my house today, family and friends. I was about to lose my mind. Just in time my MIL stopped by and took the whole croud including Braydon to the park and me and little Trey went straight to my bed to take a little nap. Aww the silence, it was so nice and peaceful.

Sounds like you had a great nap!

I've been guilty of mommy breaks before - I hate hearing the crying but need to recover my sanity! Though Esme is too big to be kept in her crib now, so no more forced naptimes/crytimes . . . So my only solution when she is overtired and not sleeping is to lie down next to her, no matter how much else I want to get done.

Naps are a struggle for us too. When Porgie was little, I would just lay down in bed with her, and she would go to sleep (not always, but usually). But Izzy? He just wants to play. It is frustrating.

I have had to take Mommy breaks before. There is NOTHING wrong with it. We all get frustrated and believe me it is better to take a few minutes to calm down then to go crazy!
