T Minus 1 and Counting

It is one day until E's birthday party. Am I ready? Are you kidding? I am president of the Procrastinators of America Club. Okay! So I have done some stuff to get ready but seriously how much can one get ready with an Eliza running around. I swear that little one has more energy and force than a ball shot from a cannon.

I asked my mom how she used to get dinner done when I was Eliza's age. She said she would tie me up and put me in the closet gate me into the kitchen with her and let me play. So I tried this last night while I was whipping up a batch of Snobby's and it was about 5 minutes before Eliza was tired of her toys and had her sleeve drenched with water from the cat's water bowl. Her NEW shirt from Gymboree- the one I would rather keep hanging in her closet so that I can stare at it all lovely and stain free. AAARGH So Pete put the cat water bowl upstairs this morning with the cat food. I can't have her eating Science Diet. Round two will ensue today as I attempt to prepare a Macaroni Salad and a Ramen Noodle Salad for the party.

and now a trip down memory lane

Here I am at my baby shower with my mom a few weeks before E was born. I can't believe she is almost one. It is unreal to me in so many ways. It has been a truly amazing year.

and now I must depart

I have more than one mug here at my computer desk and it is like playing Russian Roulette early in the morning. I just lost with a sip of coffee from an old cup. Must wash out mouth- blech!

I love little kids birthday parties - and planning them! I missed my calling as a planner (well and a meteorologist)! I have a party to go to tomorrow for my cousins little girl who turns 3. Avery's party will be next Saturday (same day as his b-day)!!! I have been planning for weeks (ok months), but I really do still have a few more things to do next week.... I hope you all have a great time!!!

Oh how fun!! I can't wait for pictures! I have all my tupperware (well, really cheap gladware) in a low cabinet and Lillian loves to pull them all out and put them back in. Now that she's older, she can stand on a stool and "help."

By the way - you probably already do the sign for the tickle. You open and close your hands facing outward making the tickle motion. It's like you're about to tickle her, but you're tickling the air (with both hands). I don't know if that made sense. :)

We have one cupboard that is not child-locked which the kids were always allowed to play in. I also used to strap them in a high chair, drag it into the kitchen with me, and give them a dun-dum sucker, because that kept them from fussing for at least 10 minutes.
Good luck with the party! I am sure it will be great!

Your coffee sounds like me with my water next to my bed. I know it is time to put the cups in the sink when I take a gulp and get a mouthful of dust that was floating on top of the water. I can't wait until tomorrow to see you guys and celebrate E's first b-day. Cna't beleive it has been a year already!

I can't believe your baby girl is almost a year old! That means in a few months, my little boy will be a year old. Time goes too fast.
