We are starting out from scratch in the kitchen and we need to stock everything. I have been eating real food- not crap-(primal/paleo) for some time now. We will pretend those Christmas cookies didn't happen for the sake of this post. The kids and Pete are about to join me in eating clean. I am thinking in February we might do The Whole Thirty. It is a 30 day challenge where you basically clean up your eating act. Of course I pick the 28 day month to do the thirty day challenge.
Here is what I have planned for this weekend's pantry run. I am going to cry because Trader Joe's does not open in MP for a few months and I am basically a TJ addict. I am stuck with Harris Teeter, Whole Foods (Whole paycheck) and Earthfare for now.

good luck with your challenge. sounds like it's right up your alley!
I thought you were a vegetarian?
Have you tried unsweetened almond milk yet? It's my fave! I hate cow's milk and will never drink it again blah! Also, I was wondering, can you eat grains on your paleo diet? Like oats, flax, quinoa, millet, etc.?
Christy- I was vegan/veg for a while but I felt it wasn't the healthiset option for myself or the family. I've looked into it a lot and don't actual feel it is the best for our bodies or for the environment. When I was vegan i ended up eating a lot of crap and soy(which is a big health no no) I am all about eating local and eating real food.
Amber- NO GRAINS! All of the carbs come from some fruit and as many vegetables as I can consume. LOL I have had almond milk but really i bought the coconut for the kids..I really only drink water.
This is a great explanation of what it means to be paleo.

hahaha I guess grains are the biggest NO of all! very interesting! This way of eating is very similar to the stuff I eat already, but I don't think I could do it completely. I loveee eating dry oats mixed with almond butter and almond milk for breakfast almost everyday hehe. Not to mention my love for beans :(
