How to tell when it's time to switch car seats

Many of you moms out there might be unsure how to know when it is time to move your little guy or girl from an infant seat to a convertible car seat and then to a booster. And how do you know when it's time to switch them from rear facing to forward facing?  I was reading one of my favorite blogs today and they had an informative article about when to switch to a booster.

Or for you moms of younger kids (Danielle!) you guys can read this earlier article about rear facing as long as possible.   Click here

Check out the American Academy of Pediatrics website for much more helpful info about car seats!

Sorry about all of the links but this is way too much info for me to type & I want everyone to get it all!!  Hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend with your kids  :)

I was thinking about posting something like this. I was thinking Madison could be put in a booster at 4 years. But she must be 4 years and at least 40 pounds. At the rate we are going she'll be 18 before she hits that weight! Anyway I'm pretty sure the weight limit for my car seat is 50 or 65 pounds (have to look that up). at this point I'ld rather keep her in the 5-point harness car seat as long as possible.
